I get the impression they might be sad because they use to have families in them that lived and loved and cherished there and now the place is abandoned and it is left with memories... :( I have always felt that houses were alive. And thier noises is them talking to you. :) I feel sorry for old cars, like the kind you find in the junk yard, all lonely and rusted, a shadow of it's former self. My dad use to name them. He had a 42 brown Plymoth he rescued from the junk yard he named Esmerelda. We always would give them names and would talk to them. No one can tell me cars don't have personalites.
